What is social listening?
Social listening is the practice of monitoring social media conversations — about your brand, your competitors, and your category — and analyzing them for trends, sentiment, and emerging needs. It goes beyond counting mentions to understanding what the conversation means.
Where brand monitoring asks “what are they saying about us?”, social listening also asks “what does our market care about right now?” — making it useful for product ideas and campaign timing, not just reputation management.
