What is market intelligence?
Market intelligence is the broad set of information a company gathers about its market: overall size and growth, customer segments and needs, regulatory shifts, and competitor activity. Competitive intelligence is a subset of it, focused specifically on rivals.
Teams use market intelligence to decide where to play — which segments to target, how to price, what to build next — while competitive intelligence informs how to win against specific alternatives once that choice is made.
