What is value proposition?
A value proposition is the concise statement of the value a product delivers: what a specific customer gets, what problem it solves, and why it beats the alternatives — including doing nothing. It differs from a slogan in that it is testable: a buyer reading it should be able to say “that’s for me” or “that’s not.”
Value propositions are competitive documents whether teams admit it or not: “why choose us” only means something relative to what else buyers are considering. The strongest ones name the alternative’s weakness implicitly — speed against a slow incumbent, simplicity against a bloated suite — which is why they should be revisited whenever the competitive set shifts.
