A keyword gap is the set of search terms your competitors rank for but you do not. Keyword gap analysis compares your keyword footprint against one or more rivals to surface those misses, typically prioritized by search volume, difficulty, and buying intent.

It is one of the fastest ways to build an SEO roadmap: the demand is proven (a competitor already earns traffic from it) and the bar is visible (their page is the one you have to beat).
