Getting Started
Setting up your workspace
What happens between signing up and tracking your first competitor — and why Outmano tracks your own product too.
Signing up takes one screen. Here’s what it asks for and why.
Create an account
Sign up with an email and password, or continue with Google.
If you arrived from the Competitor Finder having already picked some competitors, they come with you — the next screen shows them back to you under Confirm your workspace rather than making you enter them again.
Tell us about your company
Outmano asks for two things: your company name and your website URL. If you came in through the finder, both are pre-filled from your domain and stay editable.
Why Outmano tracks your own product
Saving that form does one thing beyond creating the workspace: it starts tracking your own product, using your company name and website.
This is what every comparison is anchored on. Without a baseline there’s no “you” in you versus them — no rank on the dashboard, no radar in Compare, no feature catalog for the gap matrix, and no battlecard, since a battlecard is built around how you win.
Your own product doesn’t count against your plan’s competitor limit, and it’s excluded from things that only make sense for rivals — you won’t get alerts about your own pricing changes, and there’s no battlecard against yourself.
Start your trial
Onboarding ends at the billing page. Competitor data fetching starts once your subscription does, so nothing is crawled — and nothing is charged — until you begin the trial. See Plans and billing for how the trial works.
Then add competitors
With the trial running, add the competitors you want to watch: How to add a competitor. If you picked competitors in the finder before signing up, they’re already there.
Once a competitor is added, confirm what Outmano discovered on its Setup tab.
